Il Manchester United ha ceduto al Sunderland il centrocampista inglese Kieran Richardson, 22 anni, che ha firmato un contratto fino al 2011 con il club allenato dall'ex giocatore irlandese Roy Keane.
Il Sunderland ha praticamente definito anche l'ingaggio di un altro centrocampista: il nigeriano Dickson Etuhu, 25 anni, che arriva dal Norwich.
